PERFORMANCE
Music From the Motion
Picture Soundtrack
Warner (Import)

Mick Jagger's first foray into a
solo recording career came
about at perhaps the height of
the Rolling Stones' run, circa
1969.

And although the 13 track
original motion picture
soundtrack album contained
only one Jagger tune-Memo
From Turner-the sum of all the
parts is just as good.

With such contributors as Ry
Cooder, Randy Newman, Buffy
Saint-Marie and Mary Clayton, to
name a few.

In addition,  Performance  is
considered the first ground
breaking use of incidental music
on a contemporay rock
soundtrack, and helped launch
the solo career of producer Jack
Nitzsche who had previously
been a Phil Spector second
banana.

And this new remaster is
definitely an upgrade from
previous editions, although the
original iconic cover is ditched
for a more arty one new one.

But if you like the blues, this
one's for you.
