DYLAN
Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set
Sony BMG Legacy
My advice to all music fans, is to disregard
any complaints you may hear or read
about this being "just another Dylan best
of," because not only is this 51 songs of
Bob's best, the packaging is worth the
price of admission alone.
As illustrated at left, this set is very classy
looking, and the 3 CDs come in miniature
LP cover reproductions, with copies of
original paper sleeves, as well as the disk
itself made to resemble a record.
And in addition to a 40 page booklet with
extended liner notes and rare pix, you get
10 very cool postcards called Dylan
Collector Card Series, which I might
guess we will get more of in future
releases.
Of course there will always be the debate
about what songs should-or should not
have been included, but I like that you get
the rarer soundtrack version of Knockin'
On Heaven's Door, and a newly
remastered You Ain't Goin' Nowhere from
The Basement Tapes.
A must for any serious Dylan
connoisseur, as well an effective
overview of Bob's incredible 45 year plus
career.
Whoa mama!
